Metro New York BBB to Begin Publishing

Complaint Details in Business Reviews

On July 31, 2013, the Metro New York BBB will begin including complaint details in BBB Business Reviews. Research has shown that consumers are looking for more detailed information on the types of complaints companies receive and how those complaints were ultimately resolved. This change gives the business more of a voice in the published complaints, allowing consumers to observe their response to customer issues directly. Click here for more details.
 
Employers Need to Know: 
NYC Approves Paid Sick Leave Legislation

The Council of the City of New York recently passed legislation that will require New York City businesses with 20 or more employees to provide five paid sick days to their employees beginning April 1, 2014.  The mandate will extend to businesses with 15 or more employees on October 1, 2015. 

The law will be enforced by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.  Exceptions may apply in some circumstances; see the bill for exact details.  Click here to view a copy of the bill.  For more information call 311 in New York City or (212) NEW-YORK (212-639-9675) from outside New York City.
