NYPAS Charity Reports
The Metropolitan New York BBB Foundation operates the largest local charity review service in the BBB system, offering reports on over 850 charities. This program, called the New York Philanthropic Advisory Service (NYPAS), reviews charities against a set of national BBB standards for nonprofit management. Charities that fail to meet BBB standards may well be next week’s news story!
NYPAS maintains an Online Giving Guide, which is an invaluable source of information about New York charities. Companies of every size find this guide extremely helpful in sorting out donation requests from local charities.
Custom charity information services
NYPAS charity reports in our Online Giving Guide provide detailed information about the charity’s finances, fundraising practices, and governance. With advance notice, BBB accredited businesses may request custom charity reviews.
Donor and volunteer information programs
The NYPAS staff is expert in wise giving practices, volunteering, and charity management, including the responsibilities of serving on a nonprofit’s board. NYPAS offers seminars on these topics to the employees of BBB accredited businesses in groups of ten or more.
