Founded in 1978, BBB AUTO LINE® is the nation’s oldest and most respected auto warranty dispute resolution program. The BBB system administers BBB AUTO LINE to help automobile manufacturers and individual customers resolve disputes concerning alleged manufacturing defects.
Thirty-four companies participate in this program.
BBB AUTO LINE is a highly efficient program. The CBBB has devoted significant resources to create a program that combines the latest technology with a highly trained and experienced staff. BBB AUTO LINE strongly encourages settlement of claims through mediated agreements, and we are successful in providing an impartial forum viewed favorably by both customers and participating companies. For those cases in which a settlement is not reached, BBB AUTO LINE provides fair and impartial arbitration that complies with federal and individual state lemon law requirements.
The BBB maintains a pool of 1,700 arbitrators, primarily attorneys, to manage the arbitration hearings and make decisions consitent with the applicable laws and regulations. Each year the BBB AUTO LINE program is evaluated to ensure compliance with applicable regulation and the findings may be found in the auditors report.
