The BBB seeks motivated, analytical volunteers with strong communication skills and an interest in gaining uniquely valuable mediation experience.
The volunteer mediator position generally entails the following:
Assisting consumers and businesses in resolving marketplace disputes. The BBB mediates various types of issues involving financial services, the home improvement industry, retail, mail order, online shopping, and many others. An interesting and challenging opportunity for anyone who is a good listener and enjoys talking to people and solving problems.
Must be able to use computer and email. Excellent phone manner and writing skills required. Prior dispute resolution experience is not necessary – will train. Minimum 10 hours per week - flexible schedule.
